Whenever I hear about carrots, I think of that famous Shel Silverstein poem (the one where the guy sticks carrots in his eyes):
“They say that carrots are good for your eyes. They swear that they improve your sight, but I’m seein’ worse than I did last night. You think maybe I ain’t usin’ ’em right?!”
Well, the insane amounts of vitamin A in carrots can certainly help with your pup’s eye health, but that’s not the only thing they’re good for. Carrots also contain immune-boosting vitamin C, digestive-aiding fiber, and overall body-benefiting potassium.
Add some julienned carrots to your homemade dog treats (like these Carrot Sweet Potato Bones), put some shredded carrots in your pup’s food bowl, or just toss your pooch a cut up raw carrot to snack on straight.
