Over 60 brands of Omega 3 supplements for cats and dogs are being recalled due to potentially dangerous levels of Vitamin A (an essential nutrient that can cause health issues when too much is consumed over time). This recall by distributor Stratford Care USA, Inc comes after a single report of a dog experiencing symptoms of vitamin A toxicity.
What’s Recalled
The questionable Omega 3 Supplements for cats and dogs were distributed throughout the United States in veterinary clinics, distribution centers, retail stores, and online marketplaces such as Amazon and Chewy.
According to the FDA, they come in white plastic containers, containing 60 soft gels. The marking on the bottom of the container states “lot 31133 EXP 04/13/23” and “lot 30837 EXP 10/26/22.” This product has been private labeled under various brand names.
