Fromm Family Foods — a long-standing, family-owned pet-food company — has issued a voluntary recall of certain gently cooked dog food. The food is sold under the brand name Bonnihill Farms. This comes after the company received consumer complaints about finding plastic fragments inside the food chubs.


Fromm Family Foods: What’s Recalled

This recall involves Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe, a gently cooked frozen dog food. There is one lot and a total of 300 cases included in this recall. Here is what to look for:

  • 16-ounce chubs
  • UPC 072705135004
  • The code “Best By 12/25/2026 B01.”

The recalled product was distributed through neighborhood pet stores in the following states:

  • Mississippi
  • Oklahoma

About Plastic Contamination

At this time, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. However, if your dog has eaten the recalled food, you’re urged to watch for symptoms of plastic contamination. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, “Dogs ingesting plastic may exhibit symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or stomach discomfort. Plastic, when consumed in large amounts, can lead to serious health issues in dogs, including gastrointestinal upset and a risk of intestinal obstruction.” If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately.
