When I was a little girl, my family had a Great Dane and Yorkie. Despite their major size difference, they were great friends! I loved those dogs with all my heart. But, unfortunately, one day I started experiencing allergy symptoms whenever I played with them. After our Great Dane sadly passed away, my parents felt forced to rehome our Yorkie (who went on to live a wonderful life with my neighbor). Since my parents and I are huge dog lovers, we couldn’t imagine living life without dogs running around the house. A house just isn’t a home without a dog. So in their search for a hypo-allergenic pooch, we learned a lot about dog breeds that don’t shed.
Dogs that don’t shed produce less dander, which is the major cause of pet allergies in humans. While I have grown out of my pet allergies, I must say, raising dogs that don’t shed is wonderful. I now have a Chihuahua that leaves hair everywhere!
